Jeff Scott Soto Does A Little "Damage Control"

Here's a new March 2012 interview with vocalist Jeff Scott Soto. Jeff's ready to unleash his latest solo CD, "Damage Control," out in the U.S. March 27th. The disc is a return to the high-octane, melodic hard rock for which Jeff is best known. Jeff talks in detail about the writing, recording, and timeline behind the CD, which notably features collaboration with guitarist Joel Hoekstra - fresh off of success with Night Ranger and another winter round of Trans-Siberian Orchestra touring. Speaking of TSO, Jeff has been a key to that organization for the past several years, touring with the West Coast band and 'Beethoven's Last Night" lineups. Jeff talks about his experiences with TSO - where his collaboration with Hoekstra began. Jeff also talks about the other musicians involved with "Damage Control" - including a cameo from Y&T's Dave Meniketti. I ask Jeff about his numerous projects throughout the years, and his ability to adapt to seemingly any musical situation, as he's done with Yngwie Malmsteen, Journey, Talisman, and so many others. Jeff also talks in depth about the music business, and his take on the current state of the industry. He also chats a bit about his vocal conditioning whiel on the road, where he will be soon to support "Damage Control." Make sure to visit Jeff online at www.jeffscottsoto.com, and check out more on the new CD - Jeff personally recommends you pick up the special edition of the disc, with bonus tracks that he's particularly proud of. Thanks so much to Jeff for the interview, calling from Europe!
