Jack Russell's Great White - The Rebirth

Here's a new June 2012 interview with vocalist Jack Russell of Great White. Jack's currently set for a big summer tour with Jack Russell's Great White, his version of the band he founded back in 1978. Jack was forced to tweak the name after a split with the remaining members of Great White, while Jack was recovering from a multitude of health issues. Jack tells his story about coming back from near death with a perforated bowel and pulmonary embolism  in this 25-minute interview, as well as what it's like for him to be healthy and excited about music again. Jack also talks about his current band lineup, which features some seasoned road vets. I also ask Jack about some Great White history, like the band's second wind of sorts back in 1999, when they released the excellent "Can't Get There From Here" on Sony, and did the big summer tour of that year with Poison. Jack also chats about the band's 90's struggles to get through the "grunge" era, and goes back to talk about the big success circa 1989, when the "Twice Shy" album was released and an arena tour ensued with Tesla. Best of all, Jack is currently optimistic about his future, and is eager to make new music with his new lineup, which he says will enter the studio later this year. He also hints of some live material, which will most likely be released as a free download. Thanks to Jack for a great interview, and be sure to visit Jack online at www.jacksgreatwhite.com.
