Veronica Freeman and Jeff Pilson Collaborate On "Obey"

Welcome to a new December 2013 interview with powerhouse Benedictum vocalist Veronica Freeman and bassist/producer/songwriter Jeff Pilson of Dokken/Foreigner fame. That's right, a co-interview from the two - Veronica and Jeff collaborated on the new Benedictum album "Obey." After producing Benedictum's debut "Uncreation" in 2006, and followup "Seasons of Tragedy" in 2008, Jeff re-connected with the band and was essential to the project as co-writer and lending his production skills to the new album. Veronica's portion is up first, as she lays out her history with Benedictum co-founder Pete Wells, as well as the writing/recording process of "Obey." Jeff's part follows, with his thoughts on working with the band, the contemporary hard rock and metal scene, and what it takes to successfully collaborate with outside musicians. Of course, there's so much more covered within the 20-plus minutes of conversation, which was a total pleasure with these two incredible talents. Visit Bededictum online at www.benedictum.net for more on the band's history and music, and thanks to Veronica and Jeff for a great chat, as well as Dustin at Frontiers Records for setting it all up!
