Meet Bluesman Jake Lear

Here's a brand new May 2009 interview with up and coming blues artist Jake Lear. Based in Binghamton, NY, Jake's just released his second solo CD titled "Lost Time Blues". The album to me sounds like a cross between Bob Dylan's "Highway 61 Revisited" and Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Texas Flood" - i.e. Jake's got the chops of a gutbucket blues player and the songwriting sensibilities of a folk artist. In this interview, we talk about the record in detail, including the ideas behind the sound Jake was aiming for, and the fantastic players he rounded up to fill out that sound. Jake's going to be hitting the road hard this summer. When we spoke, he was in the midst of a series of dates on Memphis' famed Beale Street. He also hopes to get back to Europe soon as well. Thanks to Jake for the interview - here's hoping big things happen for him soon. Make sure you check out Jake's website at www.jakelear.com.
