Nils Lofgren Acoustic in New Hope
Here's a new August 2010 interview with singer/songwriter/guitarist (let's just call him a well-diversified musician) Nils Lofgren. The main topic of this conversation with Nils was his upcoming appearance in New Hope, PA at Havana on September 8th. Nils spoke about a myriad of topics, including his recent acoustic record "The Loner - Nils Sings Neil," on which he plays a number of early Neil Young cuts, which Nils actually had a part in the first time around. Playing with Neil Young is one of the topics Nils talked about, as well as his time with Bruce Springsteen, even touching on Grin and Nils' solo material as well. Nils also chats about his guitar playing, and notes that he's also opened an online guitar instruction section at his website. Other subjects discussed were Nils longevity in the music business, as well as his skills of jumping from sideman to frontman over hs long career. This show in New Hope will be acoustic, and he chats a bit about what fans can expect from this show, as well as the current tour. Nils is also writing material for a new solo CD, that he expects to devote a fair amount of time to this fall/winter. Of course, he says, the doors are always open should Bruce come calling again for another E-Street swing. Nils wrapped up two solid years of touring/recording with E-Street late last year. For more on the New Hope gig, and Nils in general, make sure to check out his website at www.nilslofgren.com. Thanks so much to Nils for a great conversation.
