Ronny Munroe Talks Solo Record, Metal Church, TSO

Here's a new June 2012 interview with vocalist Ronny Munroe. Ronny's perhaps best known as vocalist for Metal Church, having fronted the band for three of the heaviest albums of the MC discography. He's also worked with Metal Church guitarist Kurdt Vanderhoof in the progressive-themed Presto Ballet. As of late, Ronny has been touring with Trans-Siberian Orchestra as a featured vocalist. The bulk of this chat, though, is about his crushing new solo record, "Lords Of The Edge." The album features cameos by guitarists like TSO's Chris Caffery, Michael Wilton from Queensryche, and Stu Marshall from Australian band Empires of Eden. Ronny talks here about the album, as well as his solo career in general. He gives us an overview of his musical influences, his pre-Metal Church musical projects, and his thoughts on the Metal Church breakup (he's still close friends with Vanderhoof, so the door's always open...) and even what it's like being a part of the TSO juggernaut. Ronny's a true, in-the-trenches musician who lives and breathes his art. He's given us a hint near the end of the interview about yet another incredible project he has in the works, but can't divulge quite yet - maybe next time I speak with him. Thanks so much to Ronny for his time, and make sure to visit visit him online at www.ronnymunroe.com.
