Blackberry Smoke - The South Rises Again

Here's a brand new February 2009 interview with vocalist/guitarist Charlie Starr from Georgia based Blackberry Smoke. If you haven't heard of the band, now is the perfect time to get acquainted. Charlie gives a bit of back info about the band, it's music, and what the band is currently up to. The southern rockers have just released an EP called "Little Piece of Dixie", which was produced by A-list Nashville producer Dan Huff. The EP is five tracks of a potent blend of pure southern swagger, melodic country, and dixie-fried rock. Translation: it's infectious as hell. The EP also features the track "Up In Smoke", which was featured in the NASCAR 2008 video game, which Charlie talks about. Other topics of conversation include the band's touring, writing and recording, the band's journey up until now, and more. Make sure you check out the Blackberry Smoke site at www.blackberrysmoke.com for info on the new EP, as well as live dates - which the band has booked right through '09. The band is a scorcher live, check 'em out of you can. Thanks so much to Charlie for the interview - hell of a nice guy.
